For over thirty years Erik Geisen has been teaching  professional and aspiring singers the technical knowledge to sing well and healthy.  Erik got his start in his hometown of New York City where he studied voice at the John Mace Vocal Studio.  He went on to study with VIrginia Gerhardt, Richard Woitach, and Armen Boyajian.  At just twenty years old he was chosen to replace John Voight as Rodolpho opposite Robert Duvall and Dustin Hoffman in the the Pulitzer Prize winning drama, "A View from the Bridge" by Arthur Miller.

Although Erik quickly became a sought after actor, he chose his first love, singing.  He performed in New York and throughout the east coast, becoming the lead tenor at the Light Opera of Manhattan, where he performed all of the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.

Erik continued to play high-profile roles in plays including "The Rainmaker", "West Side Story", and operas such as "Madame Butterfly" and "La Traviatta" until he met Placido Domingo.  The renowned  Spanish tenor provided introductions for auditions in the major houses of Europe, and as a result, Erik was hired by Herbert von Karajan for the Salzburg Fespiel of 1973 where he performed as the lead tenor in "de Temprum Fine Comodedia".  This established him as a leading lyric tenor.

Mr. Geisen continued his career in Europe until 1987, appearing in operas in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, and recording on Deutsche Grammophone.  Upon his return to the United State he continued to act in plays and operas while teaching students in his two studios in New York and Seattle.  In addition to his singing and acting career Erik is an accomplished director and recording artist.  He has directed many musicals and operas, inculding "Showboat", Oklahoma, and "A Night in Venice".  He has also served as the Artistic Director for the Starlit Water Music Festival in Washington State.  Recordings featuring Erik Geisen include Bary Records' "The Student Prince", and Concert Hall's "Cosi Fan Tutte".
